SA's Favourite kikuyu
Eureka Kikuyu PBR is a summer active lawn which prefers a sunny environment. It produces a medium thickness, bright green leaf and has both underground and above ground runners that create a dense coverage. Kikuyu looks best with short and frequent mowing especially throughout the warmer months. It is a vigorous grower, requiring at least 6 hours of sunlight per day. It is a hard wearing turf that recovers well from wear and tear, making it suitable for high traffic areas.
Eureka Kikuyu PBR is a great lawn for larger areas, given its vigorous nature and rapid spread of runners. It performs best in large areas that don’t contain paths or garden beds as it requires regular edging and maintenance.
With many Kikuyu varieties now available on the Australian turf market, Lawn Solutions Australia have worked with turf farms to find a Kikuyu that is male sterile, disease resistant, and has lower watering and nutrient requirements. Eureka Kikuyu PBR meets the market requirements for high level kikuyu performance.

Caring for your Eureka Kikuyu PBR
Eureka Kikuyu PBR needs to be watered frequently throughout the establishment period to help the roots establish, however once established it is a drought tolerant lawn. During the warmer months, watering 2-3 times per week is recommended. Watering for longer periods of time encourages the lawn to develop a deep root system which is essential to having a drought tolerant lawn. Watering frequencies should be adjusted depending on weather conditions and soil types.

Eureka Kikuyu looks best when mown weekly at a height of approx. 25mm during the warmer months. It can be maintained at a range of heights, depending on personal preference.
Regular mowing will prevent thatching and encourage a tight growth mat. Due to its vigorous growth, regular edging around any garden beds or paths will be required.
Sharpen Your Mower blades for a cleaner cut and greener appearance.
